
THE LIGHTHOUSE OF BIBIONE
The lighthouse of Bibione, located on the right bank of the Tagliamento River mouth, directly overlooks the Adriatic Sea. Built in 1913 and destroyed during the First World War, it has been immediately rebuilt and then electrified in 1952 and completely automated in 1973. It can be reached on foot or by bicycle and you can choose between two pats to follow: or you walk on the sand or you take the gravel road thought for reaching the lighthouse with the bicycles. The area where the lighthouse is inserted in is really quite and relaxing, characterized from the green nature and the golden beach of Bibione. Moreover, if you decide to continue your walk beyond the lighthouse, you will be able to see the nearby Lignano Sabbiadoro located close to the opposite bank of the Tagliamento River. The lighthouse is partially opened to visitors and hosts various exhibitions at different time of the summer season. The landscape that surrounds the lighthouse of Bibione is suggestive and represents the simplicity of Bibione.
